It's been a while since I've been on this place, huh? I kinda got another salary cut not too long ago though, pal, so I had to pay the rent on my apartment before I could spend my money on this place. It's kind of a downer, but I guess that's how it is, huh? Sorry if I worried anyone!

... Huh. Kinda boring, really. I guess it could have been worse though, right?

When his cell phone rang, it didn't register at first - Gumshoe was a pretty heavy sleeper. At that precise moment, he was dreaming of being in a warm restaurant, with a steaming bowl of noodles in front of him - when suddenly, the bowl beeped. and kept beeping, ringing no matter where he looked at it.

He rolled over and opened his eyes groggily. "Huh? Who's calling at this time of night?" he wondered sleepily, groping around in the dark for the phone and holding it to his ear.

"Hello?"

Apollo had dropped Gumshoe off at the entrance to the village as promised. Gumshoe hoped that Gaara had seen his post at least. It hadn't occurred to him to give Gaara some warning - it had been a spur-of-the-moment decision and he didn't know the guy's cell phone number anyway. Come to that, he didn't even know if they had cell phones on Gaara's world.

So he stood at the edge of the desert village, hoping that someone would notice him.

Hey! Phoenix Wright! I have a bone to pick with you!

How come you got Maggey a guilty verdict in that trial last month, pal?! That has to have been the worst defense I've ever seen in my life! Geez, if that's how you're treating your clients these days, pal, you won't catch me giving you another scrap of information, ever?

So? What are you gonna do about it, huh pal? You better fix what happened! I know that there's no way Maggey would ever do anything like that, not for a second!


((OOC: ARGH! Finally, it's up. Sorry this was so late, Idgie... ;~~;))

It was all a dream. Geez, I can tell you, that was really a huge downer, pal. Everything was going my way, and then to wake up and find out that everything that happened was just a lie? I'm not lying, that really got me down for a while. Man...

Oh, and for some reason all the computers at my local internet cafe went down for a few hours a couple of days ago. Now that was weird, I'm telling you.

I think I need to go yell at some newbies.

... Hey, Maraich? You were completely right, pal! I went into work today and I got called into the office.

Turns out they wanted to give me a salary raise! I haven't got a salary raise in years, pal. I was so happy, I could have cried! I think I might've actually hugged the chief a little too hard, as a matter of fact...

I've had it up to here with that Luke Atmey guy, pal! Every time we get close to breaking that Mask☆DeMasque case, he comes waltzing in acting like he's solved it!

Just because he was the last person to catch a glimpse of him he thinks he's some kind of big shot. I'm telling you, though, I've never seen him doing any investigating outside of when the things are reported to be stolen! It's been the fourth time and there's still no sign of him!

I'm off to blow off some steam, pal. I just can't believe he's taken all the credit for this...

It's turning out to be one of those days. I mean, these virus things are pretty whacked out, wouldn't you say? Everyone turning into animals, that's just crazy! Still, I guess these things wear off quickly, so things should be back to normal soon... at least, I hope so, pal.

Oh! By the way, Mr. Edgeworth, I got that screen reader for you, sir! I'll be on my way back now!
